Tasty Chinese food for a great price. This is only a takey outie so no indoor ambiance but still the best Chinese food in Bulloch County. They stay very busy at certain times of day.
I order almost weekly from this restaurant. I have never had a bad meal not to mention I cannot find Mongolian beef anywhere near here as good as Southern Palace. If you want to try a stupendous soup order their Seafood Soup. My wife and I split it as it's a very Hardy soup that we have with our main entree. Excellent.
This is the only Chinese we get for take out. Food is good. Fresh, hot. I order our fried rice with a couple of substitutions, never an issue. Every once in awhile our egg rolls do have a strange taste. Oil could be old, not sure. But not a deal breaker for us to stay loyal to this place. Service is always friendly.
This place has the very best fresh tasting Chinese food in Statesboro. I love they now have a drive thru pickup and frequent them often.
So... This may not be the best Chinese food in Statesboro, which might be Great Wall restaurant. But Southern Palace has something going on that I have almost never seen, and that is that Southern Palace has lunch specials on the weekend. It's hard to know what I'm comparing, since the lunch special on the weekend is too cheap to pass up so I only got the really cheap food here and nothing fancy or full price. Anyway, lunch specials: There are a whole bunch of them, and you can get them on the weekend, and lunch is 11:30-3:30, so it's a big long lunch specials time. Lunch special comes with a styrofoam clamshell with food in the big compartment and rice (fried or steamed, your choice) in both small compartments, then a spring roll or egg roll, then your choice of soup (egg drop, sweet and sour, or wonton), a baggie of fried things to put on the soup, and a fortune cookie. The fried rice is kind of dismal. It's got a tiny bit of chopped up egg in it, but nothing else. It's rice fried rice. Not pork fried rice. Not veggie fried rice. Basically just rice with nothing else in it. Soups are kind of ho hum. Egg roll is pretty good. Entrees are pretty good. For feeding a group, it's pretty good because cheap to get several flavors and you get a lot so if someone is extra hungry there's the rice and soups. Lunch specials is a pile of food for an affordable price. I can't eat one by myself all at once for sure. Pretty fast service and also many of the foods will be freshly cooked when you order. I would strongly recommend to call and place the order, then go over after you order for no wait if you time your travel right. I'm not sure whether the full price meals are nicer than the lunch specials. They cost more. So maybe they are nicer. Has a drive through window for picking up takeout.
Highly recommended. I really enjoyed the meal here which were the real Chinese style. I love the chicken, the beef and the dofu which were so tasty and yummy too One of the waiter on Saturday is really nice and we enjoyed our Donner
Was in Statesboro for a sporting event, and I was pleasantly surprised by Southern Palace! I wasn't even expecting Statesboro to have Chinese food, albeit Americanized. My understanding is most meals come with soup, and combined with portion size the prices here are hard to beat. Food was good, if maybe a bit uniform, but definitely tasty. Menu had a good amount of variety as well. Service was also very friendly. I got the pork with spicy garlic sauce - spice was overpowering simply in that I didn't really taste any of the garlic - and it tasted just as good the day after as well!
